SCOUT MOTTO:BE PREPARED
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND EVENTS

Ken Hunt at Philmont 2009
At the end of January, Ken Hunt will be retiring and moving South to a warmer climate. Ken has been a lifelong member of our Community and a major part of Troop 49 for decades. He was a Scout as a youth and continued to be one as an adult. His dedication to the program, and our youth, have helped to make Troop 49 successful.
Ken has led many a hike, and gone to Philmont numerous times. In fact he has whipped many a Crew into shape. When Ken took you out for a 5 mile hike it was really 7. When he took you out for a 7 mile hike it was 10 and when he took you out for a 10 mile hike it was like a Marathon. All with at least 40 lbs on your back.
We know that you plan to continue hiking. If you do tackle the Appalachian Trail and are passing through NJ let us know, we will refresh your supplies and join you on the trail for a bit (and try not to slow you down too much).
Thank you for your years of dedication. Enjoy.
